IAT REMOVAL

IAT (Intake Air Temperature Sensor)

It is a sensor that measures the intake air temperature of vehicle engines. This sensor provides information to the engine control unit (ECU), which uses this data to optimize fuel injection and ignition timing. The IAT sensor is critical to improving engine performance and fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.

The IAT sensor is usually a thermistor. The thermistor is a component whose resistance changes according to temperature changes. Negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors are often used, meaning that resistance decreases as temperature increases. The sensor detects the temperature of the intake air and transmits this information to the ECU as an electrical signal. The ECU uses this data to optimize the engine's air-fuel mixture and increase combustion efficiency.

FUNCTION OF IAT (Intake Air Temperature Sensor)

  • Fuel Injection: Air density changes depending on air temperature. Cold air is denser and contains more oxygen. The ECU adjusts the amount of fuel injection using this information.
  • Ignition Timing: The temperature of the intake air affects the combustion rate. The ECU optimizes engine performance by adjusting ignition timing according to air temperature.
  • Emissions Control: Correct adjustment of the air-fuel mixture is critical in reducing emissions.

COMPONENTS OF IAT (Intake Air Temperature Sensor)

  • Intake Air Temperature Sensor

PROBLEMS OF IAT (Intake Air Temperature Sensor)

  • Reduced Fuel Efficiency
  • Malfunction light coming on (Check Engine Light)
  • Low engine performance
  • Increase in Emission

NUOVOLTA SOLUTION OF IAT (Intake Air Temperature Sensor)

  • DTC codes should be read and removed with a diagnostic tool.
  • Apply the solution of the module related to NUOVOLTA.
  • Write the mod file to the ECU.
  • Check the dashboard and DTC logs. Take it for a test drive.
  • If all the checks are OK, it means the problem is solved.
