SCR / AdBlue
P2047 Reductant (AdBlue/DEF) Injector Circuit/Open (Bank 1 Unit 1)
The ECU monitors the electrical circuit of the AdBlue (DEF) dosing injector. P2047 is set when an open circuit or abnormal circuit condition is detected.
Common causes
- Open circuit or damaged wiring to the dosing injector
- Faulty dosing injector coil
- Corroded or loose connector, often due to heat or AdBlue contamination
- ECU output driver fault (rare)
Typical symptoms
- Check engine light and/or AdBlue warning on
- AdBlue dosing disabled
- Countdown to engine start restriction on many vehicles
P2047 and NuoVolta
If the SCR/AdBlue system has been removed or disabled for off-road or motorsport use, where permitted by law, the NuoVolta AdBlue / SCR / NOx Removal solution adjusts the ECU calibration and the DTC removal feature can disable this code. On a working system, check the injector resistance and wiring first.
Diagnose and repair real faults first. Removing or disabling emission systems is only permitted where allowed by law, for example for off-road or motorsport use.
