P2015 Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1)

The ECU compares the flap position reported by the intake manifold runner position sensor with the commanded position. P2015 is set when the reported position is implausible or outside the expected range.

Common causes

  • Worn or seized flap shaft or bushings due to carbon deposits
  • Broken actuator linkage
  • Faulty position sensor or actuator
  • Wiring or connector problems

Typical symptoms

  • Check engine light (MIL) on
  • Rough idle or hesitation
  • Reduced power or limp mode on some vehicles

P2015 and NuoVolta

If the swirl or tumble flaps have been removed or blanked for off-road or motorsport use, where permitted by law, the NuoVolta Flaps / Swirl Removal solution adjusts the ECU calibration and the DTC removal feature can disable this code. On a fitted system, check the flap mechanism for wear before any software change.

Diagnose and repair real faults first. Removing or disabling emission systems is only permitted where allowed by law, for example for off-road or motorsport use.
