TCU IMMO Removal [EEPROM]

NuoVolta provides a ready TCU IMMO Removal [EEPROM] solution for 2 ECUs, including Temic DQ200 and Temic DQ250. Select your ECU below to see the details.

TCU IMMO

On many modern vehicles, the transmission control unit (TCU) takes part in the immobilizer or component protection system, and the immobilizer-related data of the TCU may be stored in its EEPROM. If the TCU cannot be authenticated, for example after a used TCU from another vehicle has been installed, the transmission may not engage gears or may switch to limp mode.

TCU immo removal deactivates the immobilizer check of the TCU. The [EEPROM] version of this module is applied to the EEPROM (data memory) file read from the TCU. Whether the [FLASH] or the [EEPROM] version is needed depends on the TCU type.

FUNCTION OF TCU IMMO

1. Main Function:

The immobilizer check ensures that the transmission control unit only operates in the vehicle it has been paired with.

2. Working Principle:

  • When the ignition is switched on, the TCU checks the authentication data received from the vehicle.
  • If the data matches, the transmission operates normally.
  • If the data does not match, the TCU stores a fault and may block or limit transmission operation.

PROBLEMS OF TCU IMMO

  • The transmission does not engage gears after a TCU replacement.
  • Gearbox warning or transmission fault message on the dashboard.
  • Limp mode problem
  • Immobilizer-related DTCs stored in the TCU.

NUOVOLTA SOLUTION OF TCU IMMO REMOVAL [EEPROM]

NuoVolta provides a ready solution for this module, applied by the NuoVolta client to the original TCU EEPROM file.

  • DTC codes should be read and removed with a diagnostic tool.
  • Apply the solution of the module related to NUOVOLTA.
  • Write the mod file to the TCU EEPROM.
  • Check the dashboard and DTC logs. Take it for a test drive.
  • If all the checks are OK, it means the problem is solved.

Note: Immobilizer-related services should only be performed on vehicles whose legitimate ownership has been verified and in compliance with local regulations.

ECUs supported for TCU IMMO Removal [EEPROM]

Grouped by ECU manufacturer, most requested first.

Diagnose and repair real faults first. Removing or disabling emission systems is only permitted where allowed by law, for example for off-road or motorsport use.
