ACT REMOVAL

ACT (Active Cylinder Technology)

It is a technology used in modern automobiles to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. This technology has the ability to deactivate certain cylinders depending on the load condition of the engine. In this way, unnecessary fuel consumption is prevented at low load or cruising speed.

FUNCTION OF ACT (Active Cylinder Technology)

1.Cylinder Disable:

The engine shuts down certain cylinders when operating in low-power conditions. This is usually applied in multi-cylinder engines such as V6, V8. For example, a V8 engine can disable two, four or six cylinders.

2.Cylinder Activation:

When the power demand increases (for example, when accelerating or climbing a hill), the deactivated cylinders are reactivated. This allows the engine to reach its full power capacity.

COMPONENTS OF ACT (Active Cylinder Technology)

  • Electromechanical Valve Actuators
  • Oil Control Systems

PROBLEMS OF ACT (Active Cylinder Technology)

  • Engine Vibrations.
  • Malfunction light coming on (Check Engine Light)
  • Irregular engine runs.
  • Problems with Cylinder Activation.
  • Irregular Idle RPM.

NUOVOLTA SOLUTION OF ACT (Active Cylinder Technology)

  • DTC codes should be read and removed with a diagnostic tool.
  • Apply the solution of the module related to NUOVOLTA.
  • Write the mod file to the ECU.
  • Check the dashboard and DTC logs. Take it for a test drive.
  • If all the checks are OK, it means the problem is solved.
