REV LIMITER REMOVAL

REV LIMITER

The failure of the engine to exceed a certain RPM with the transmission in "N" (Neutral) or "P" (Park) is a result of the vehicle's design and safety measures. These positions are generally situations where the vehicle is not moving or the engine is protected against external influences (for example, accidental acceleration). With this module you remove the limited RPM.

FUNCTION OF REV LIMITER

  • Security and Control: "N" and "P" positions are designed to ensure safety when the vehicle is parked or shifting gears. Keeping the engine from exceeding a certain RPM allows the driver to keep the vehicle under control and prevent accidental acceleration.
  • Design Features: On vehicles with automatic transmission, the "N" and "P" positions change the way the vehicle operates, just like any other gear position. In these positions the RPM of the engine is usually limited and does not exceed a certain level.
  • Engine Protection: Running the engine at high RPM idle may result in unnecessary fuel consumption or excessive engine wear. Therefore, by ensuring smooth operation of the engine in "N" and "P" positions, long life of the engine and unnecessary wear are prevented.
  • Emission Control: Operating the vehicle at high RPM in "N" or "P" may also violate emissions controls and environmental regulations. Therefore, having the engine have a certain RPM limit at these positions helps keep emissions under control.

PROBLEMS OF REV LIMITER

  • The engine cannot exceed a manufacturer-specified RPM.

NUOVOLTA SOLUTION OF REV LIMITER

  • Apply the solution of the module related to NUOVOLTA.
  • Write the mod file to the ECU.
  • Take it for a test drive.
  • If all the checks are OK, it means the problem is solved.
